Kingman Airport (Arizona)

Kingman Airport is a city owned, public use airport located eight nautical miles (15 km) northeast of the central business district of Kingman, a city in Mohave County, Arizona, United States.〔
As per the Federal Aviation Administration, this airport had 897 passenger boardings (enplanements) in calendar year 2010,〔 878 in 2011, and 924 in 2012.〔 The National Plan of Integrated Airport Systems for 2013–2017 categorized it as a ''general aviation'' facility (the ''commercial service'' category requires at least 2,500 enplanements per year).〔A number of aircraft are stored or scrapped there.

==History==

The Kingman Airport was built as a World War II United States Army Air Forces training field. Between 1942 and 1945 the U.S. Army Air Forces acquired about 4,145 acres in Mohave County outside of Kingman, Arizona and established the Kingman Army Airfield and Kingman Aerial Gunnery School training facilities in 1942.
